Abstract:

Consists chiefly of ledgers concerning C.G. Celio & Sons', including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, ca. 1913-1942. Volumes record names of customers and suppliers (mostly from El Dorado County, but also many from the San Francisco Bay Area), amount of credits, debits, and type of account, as well as employees. Also includes employees' timecards, 1940-1948, and index cards which list billing and reservation information for the hotel and cabins, 1940.
With these are articles and clippings concerning the history of the Celio Ranch and the Celio family.

Note:

C.G. Celio came to San Francisco, Calif., from Italy in the mid-1850's, and arrived at Lake Tahoe in 1857 in hopes of finding gold, and eventually settled there. Over the years, the Celio family established a number of businesses in El Dorado County, including a hotel, dairy, sawmills, and stores. In 1903, they purchased the town of Meyers, Calif., and the family was incorporated under the name, "C. G. Celio and Sons," in 1905. By the mid-1950s, the corporation was dissolved and the holdings were sold.
